Vogue UK goes POP with Plasticine
This is what you get when you combine high end jewellery, Vogue UK’s editorial team and what appears to be playdough. The ‘Shoot To Thrill ‘photo series appeared in Vogue’s December 2012 issue, with all plasticine elements crafted by French art director Alexandra Bruel. And how freakin’ cool is it?
The series references a a number of Pop Art paintings, including Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup cans, a banana, Coke bottles and a comic book style explosion. The jewels themselves are also good enough to eat – and don’t forget the crazy spotted and banana-printed nail art! If anything were to make you want to cover yourself in glitter and frequent Studio 54, this photo series would be it. Who said playdough was for toddlers?
Here are our favourite snaps.
